Not at all scientific but some of the old-timers look at the catapillers colors, if most are mostly brown then normal or warm, if mostly black; then a very cold winter. Last year, that rang true around here. This year, no consistency... They can't seem to make up their mind (*either) *ha

I would trade all my firewood crap for a fishing boat and year around warm weather in a split second!

You can have great fun fishing right now for huge walleyes on Lake Erie. Just drive north around 200 miles or so and you'll be right there! And you won't need a boat. All you need is some gear, a four wheeler with chains, and a small trailer and you'll be ready.

I will boldly predict that we are gonna have a mild winter with less than eight inches of snow.
Ahem...you meant less than 8" at a time, right? Oopsies, still missed it! :D
