I need so help setting the correct angle on the Oregon bench mounted chain sharpener.

I am currently running stihl rs chain both 3/8 and .325

I bought the sharpener new at a estate sale for $120, but I have no idea of the correct angle to use.

the attachment is a pic of the sharpener

thanks

Sharpener angles

For most of my chains I run 60 degrees on the back indicator, 30 degrees on the front and use the tilt at 10 degrees.

You can download complete instructions for the the grinder from the oregon site.

Stihl doesn't specify 10 deg. for their RS chain, so don't tilt the base. Most Oregon chain needs it, however.

25 degree top plate grinding angle (rotate the chain vise to set this angle)
60 degree top plate sharpness angle (rotate the motor assembly in back)

Hope this helps!

God bless,
Chris
