New gas tank for 461

Just lost my stihl 461 off the processor. hole in the gas tank now and a smashed air filter cover. Will a 460 gas tank work in this saw and where is the best place to get one? any aftermarket tanks available? Thanks.

Yes, the 460 tank will work. I see them on evilbay from time to time. There's one on there right now, but check what your dealer will sell you one for.

my dealer did not know a price and said 4-6weeks for delivery. Not very good turn around. so I am in the hunt because that is too much time to wait.

What about the air filter cover? I am assuming that is specific to the 461?

Yes, the air filter cover is specific to the MS461.

4-6 weeks? I can look up a price in a couple minutes and have it to me in a few days. Man I wish I was closer. I think I know why you are asking about the 460 tank.... it's asking price is right in line with Stihl retail. You now just need to find an air filter cover.
