Greetings all! Just found this site, figured I'd better introduce myself. I started as an axe fanatic (still am), and as I got older, chainsaws followed. I've got a Stihl 031AV, think its from the late 80's. Old dog runs like a champ, and haven't had any issues with it in the ten years I've been using it. I use it for everything from firewood cutting to falling and bucking windfall trees after storms. I've got a 24 inch Oregon bar, with a full chisel chain. I haven't had a chance to peruse previous posts, so I'll refrain from asking questions just yet. As well, I just learned that there are people out there that refinish old axes. I was amazed! It never occurred to me this could be a hobby! So, I'm starting to get into that, because its not super expensive, and honestly, I can't imagine having too many axes around!
