With all the different stuff you can watch on tv, I don't see an interest with this except for tree guy's. Then again, there are channels that need new stuff.
IDK, , I personally would not do it., but I sure would watch it.
Jeff :p

How about a show, that shows a bunch of fools, dropping stuff on houses and sheds, riding picks, fighting drunk, climbers getting smacked by large chunks because they don't know how to rig. Ya know, good pro stuff like that. Then put one good company in the mix, ya know, for diversification. That way, the world can see we really are a bunch of idiot's, as they already assumed. Great way to improve our image as a legit industry. Yeah, lets do it.

That might be a good idea. -- People need drama and action to watch a show real or fake. They need to turn the TV on to see what happens this week, not the same old thing. Having a few crews working and doing things the correct way and then have one that just can never get ahead. One the will F up everything they touch, drop trees on cars and so on. That would give the TV viewer the drama they need. And one that does everything rite, with all the equipment And a professional way of doing things. That would show that we are not all hacks. Hope a new show comes back on, anything would be better then then what is on now.

Film the show in South America, using professional beach volleyball players (women only, please) for groundies.
When they aren't doing treework, chronicle the minutiae of their struggle for life's meaning as they pan for gold with the Hoffmans, or harpoon caiman, or run pawn shops.

you know what is sad? AA came up with an idea for a show about tree trimming... remember "tree wars & you`re in it" I think was the title? he came up with this before big bad wood.... boy if he woulda got a push he`d prolly be rolling in money, the comedic value of him & his steiner would of been priceless.

I really dont think we need any more tree care shows depicting our trade as a bunch of disaster waiting to happen incompetant tree hacks........Im really surprised that Andy Felix is apart of the big bad wood show! funnier yet is when the opening column of the TCIA magazine basically busts on this show, Boy this industry is really something.

Years ago you got hired on & apprenticed under a qualified person(s) to get your ticket, buckstraps, safety lanyards, sissy straps were frowned upon to use, taking hang off over the lines was common & you had to get out there! accidents then were uncommon & few & far in between.........Now we got warm bodies with a CDL & no trimming experience with all the safety gear & rules to protect em...............& accidents are common even record breaking, why?

Im sure ole Peter Gertensberger will say that every accident is preventable & is the entire fault of the person it happened to...........Hmm & I thought an accident was just as its name implies AN ACCIDENT! maybe the tree companies could go back to T&M instead of firm bidding everything or bidding the job in: spans, PBI, Unit work or any other low bidding under estimating type of practice............could it be that most tree companies think of their workers as production based assets that need to work harder, Faster or the ever so popular "Smarter" instead of working them like human beings.

perhaps the tree care work force is been pushed to a limit of fatigue & from such accidents occur...........Hmm or maybe we are all engaged in some form of a reality show & are just giving everyone something to talk about, Maybe instead of the TCIA & ISA drumming up Certs & Qualifications they could focus on the industry`s bidding practices to ensure longevity for the people in the trade instead of the companies greed driven bid practices..........I mean do we really need a certification / qualification pertaining to raking a yard? chipper specialist.........really? God what happened to tree care? I think too many people want a slice of the pie for doing nothing other than sitting around & drumming up something stupid to make themselves feel important all the while trying to charge us for it.

LXT.................

i liked watching swamp loggers and the show with the Peliiers FAMILY OWN COMPANY..i used to like axe men,but its gone ways out there with some stuff..i also like watching saw competions, axe competions and so on....i think a show with old ways, and new ways of cutting, hauling, wood storage, with new tool expos each week, maybe tech tips on your saws and small equipment, segment on how to use tools proper, and how to fall trees andsuch all rolled in to one show, would be interesting...but probably not a big hit...i sure would what it....

Make it a travel show with a tree pruning twist. Trees are the centerpiece of our work and to stay in one geographical location seems narrow sited. Entertain, but inform the public about what we do. There are so many uninformed clients who don't know what is best for their property. Instead of smashing a shed, show the painstaking hoops we actually jump through to avoid such "accidents". Explain THE DRAMA IS THERE ALREADY. Capture it.

Instead of only showing removals, show the viewers what a proper prune should look like. Compare ethical work to hack jobs. Display competition and recreational climbing, saw junkies, gear junkies, "old school" guys, small companies AND big companies.

STOP SMASHING THINGS!!!! You're supposed to be highlighting professionals. Creating the amount of damage these guys do with the equipment they're using is inexcusable, even for fake drama.

Have you ever scene that show on Natgeo with the guy who goes around on rigging scenarios? I think one show they installed a turbine in a nuclear plant, that's cool! I find that much more interesting than watching a bunch of idiots cut down a tree and smash ****. I agree most home owners have no clue when it comes to their trees, so this BBW show just makes things worst for the real tree guys. Why not educate about our profession at the same time show some cool rigging scenes. Proper pruning is one thing I would like to see more of, I mean look at that treehouse guy his show isn't all butchered up with BS even though he knows nothing about trees.
