I planted a Weeping Willow that was a good 10-12' tall but was grown in a 7 gallon container. The plant was the picture of health when planted and now ( 3 weeks later) the leaves at the top of the tree are a bit wilted and crunchy. We have been drip watering for 30 minutes 3 times a week in addition to our regular sprinkler system. Should we increase the watering or decrease the watering?

DECREASE the watering and cut off the sprinklers and let the soil dry out for at least 4 days to a week OR stick a stick or rod down outside the root ball and see how wet it is down there .You can't get new root growth if the roots do not have to seek out water. You can drownd the roots if given more water than the roots and the soil can absorb, and the roots sit in water and rot
