This is the only 5200 with a break I've seen.

Hoggwood, I don't see a lot of 3400's with a chainbrake. I've got an NOS chainbrake cover but don't like using them.

All I have are chain brake models. I don't know if the Canadian factory ever put out models without them. Not the best design on the 3400-4000's. They can be easy to trip and are rather bulky. I haven't measured the mass of the covers but they certainly add up after a few tanks. I prefer 3000, 335 etc brakes to those of the 3400-4000. Poulan 3400 1 (1).jpg Poulan 3000 1.jpg

Nice one Tim! Did you see the 4900 on K asking only $100?

Sure did Lee. I would like to have one but that is a little far to drive. I figured about 12 to 13 hours return. I hear they run as fast as a 5200.

I decided to pick up a little orange 2800 twelve minutes down the road instead.

How was the trip?

Yes tempting but a heck of a drive! My Husky 61 , now a 268 is almost ready. Needed a new gas cap of allthings. I'm hoping that it wasn't the real problem as I have just replaced the tank/handle. Went with a Chinese one, seems fine, except the old cap leaked.

The chain brakes on the 3400 does add weight to the saw and I do not think they clear chips as well either.

Right now I am running a 20" bar because the trees I am stumping are probably at most about 14" to 15" across. I am working at the local cemetery and there is a lot of elm trees around the border that are half dead so I volunteered to clean them up. So far I have removed about 15 of them.

Holy crap batman
