Odd Chain Damage

Ever seen a depth gauge bent like this?

This chain had a hard life. Lost two teeth the first time I used it. It lost a couple more along the way. Now this while cutting a two foot branch out of an overgrown fence.

yup done this myself more than once hitting nails or other trash embedded in wood, rocks on the ground under logs etc. inspect your chain guides and bar and any other part the spread chain could rub on carefully.

The chain was kinked off at a hard angle at one time. You can see where the driver was bent and then straightened out

It's shot. Best bet is to throw the chain away and buy a new one. Simple as that.

Oh yeah. I have other old chains for such work. Got my last new loop of txl on it now - ready to go find hidden metal.
