After reading Brads 440/460 top end thread it got me thinking that a good thread that listed what saws P&C fit others saws could be very useful. We all would like to have the 50cc saw with the 80cc power. So how about it who knows it may even get to be sticky material. Lets keep it fairly simple, no major modifications required swaps, just your strait forward bigger is better stuff. Also post the bore&stroke specs if you have them. Who knows we may stumble across a half breed swap possibility. Husky to J-red model P&C fitment would also be appreciated.

I hope this thread evolves into something good. I have some info on this, but by no means compared to some here.

If it is ok to start with a question. Will a 395 husky p/c fit a 394 husky? I know this has likely been covered and is something I should have already picked up on.

I put a 395 piston/cylinder on a 394. I had to fab up two hold down bolts because one side of the 395 base is taller than the 394. Then the carburetor mount is different so I slipped on a 084 boot and put on a 084 carburetor. Thing cuts! ( Ken Dunn ported the cylinder). Mike

024 super/026 P/c interchange

028 (3 versions) 42mm/44mm/46mm all fit the same crankcase.

034/034 super/036/MS360 will fit that case

These will work without modifying the cyl, piston, or case.

How about 029, 029 Super, 039, MS-290, MS-310, MS-390. All use same crank, just different bore.

041&041 super to put super P&C on non case you have to put in the super studs instead of the bolts

051 to 075/076 P&C you must drill&tap the 5mm cyl screws to 6mm and use the 075/076 studs. And you have to use the 075/076 intake and muffler

I had seen a thread that offered lots of potential to me-it was an about using a custom built "shim" under the cylinder to allow him to use a different piston in his saw.with that in mind: a 394 piston will fit an 056 mag or mag 2
and a 660 piston will work in a 288 using a 460 wrist pin bearing.
(remember you will need the shim or some machine work to the piston for both applications !)

Does anyone have spec's to go along with some of this info? i.e. piston bore size, compression height, wrist pin dia., and stroke of respective saws? Just trying to put as much info in one thread as possible.

Thanks Kevlar this is the type of info I was going for in this thread. As well as simple swaps

Some reasonably current Husky/Jred exemples;

75cc and 71cc 372xp/2071/2171 setups will work well on the 365/2065/2165 and 362xp/2063/2163, unless the 365 etc has a Zama carb.

The engines of the NE(50cc)346xp/2153, OE(45cc)346xp/2147 and the 353/2152 interchange - and they fit the "plastic" cased 350/2150 as well.

Don't forget the 2149 & 351. On a side note all will interchange with each other! The carbs are different between the new & old, the new ones have the purge bulbs, but thats easy enough figured out.
