With all the wind and rain last weekend I have a partially uprooted pine tree in the back. It is not leaning on any other trees, there are a couple in the way that would have to be dropped in order for the leaner to drop without getting hung up.
The question is which is the best way drop the leaner, meaning what type of cut? It's about 35' tall and 12" at chest height.
I've dropped bigger trees than this, but they were all firmly rooted.

Thanks.

If at all possible it may be safer to try and pull it over the rest of the way.

If it's only leaning by 10-15 deg I would just notch a face cut like a vertical tree. If the lean is more than 20-25 deg I generally notch then with the typical face cut, but bore cut about 1" behind the hinge and bore straight back. They will jump quick like this so it's best to practice on small ones first with nothing in the LZ. But you should be good to notch and drop.
