My old Partner 500 has a Windsor bar on it. It is the original bar and after I tuned up the rails it works better but I noticed the sprocket tip is worn pretty bad. I looked all over online trying to cross the numbers on the Windsor bar with no luck. I suspect they put numbers on it for Partner???
The local hardware store has several old guide bars that were squirrel away and I can get cheap but I don't know what specific size the bar I have is. Here is the Windsor information:
18" bar
In doing my research I think it is a .325 pitch, .058 gauge bar. Is this all the information I need to buy a replacement? I would think there is a mount style that I'd have to match but I can't find this on any Partner or Windsor search attempts. Obviously the oil holes and adjusting holes have to be compatible so I'd really like a proper bar and not some universal fit.
The bars I am looking at are new but old. The brands available are Sandvik, Solo, GB, Husqvarna, Oregon and Windsor but not all will be a size I can use so which of these is the better manufacturer?
Thanks

Yea I've looked at that chart trying to find some resemblance to any numbers on my bar but there are none that are close. The chain, I just discovered using a magnifying glass, is a Carleton and has K2 on all the drive links except one has K9. I don't know why there is so may different chain & guide bar numbers for the same sizes of both. I counted the drive links and came up with 70. Everything I look at states an 18" bar uses 72 links for .325 pitch. Maybe I should just get a modern numbered bar/chain combination.
Thanks for the help BTW

Someone may have put that chain back together. carlton chain would be a K1-72k bar number would be 18-01W-K172-SP That's in 325 pitch

What area of NC are you? I'm in SE NC-Pender CTY.
Do you know the mount and/or size of this bar by looking at the number?
Thanks

I'm in Hayesville down in the SW corner 20mi W of Franklin.
That bar has the old numbering system. I don't have a chart for the old system. I knew what bar mount the Partner 500 uses.
