What's with the bar on the 661 ?

He got Homelite410 to machine turn it (also known as jeweling) on the CNC mill. Basically sand a bar down to bare metal, coat it with abrasive, and push a spinning tip onto it to create a swirled scratch pattern. Homelite410 did a stenciled screen paint of "Stihl" on top. It looks nice, but won't hold up to use. It was also damn expensive for the service. Only for ported saw polishers.

The bar is "engine turned" and the stihl logo is pocket milled into the bar .015 deep so it will never go away. Once I milled the logo it was sand blasted then cold gun blued along with the tip. The logo can be masked, blasted, and re-blued at any time.

.

And nobody asked me to machine that bar, it was a gift to Jeremy for reasons that most on here don't know.
