Well I will not usually kill trees for firewood. But I will recover topped trees from the areas that have been logged out. I drive a pickup truck. Stihl MS 660 and a 046. Whoever Gary is, tell him I only use 40:1 Klotz. I use as much oil as possible.

you do know that manufactures call for 50:1 right? and that you are emmitting too much oil particulates into the air because your running your oil mix richer

Did not insult you. Why would you call me a tree hugger? I am not a logger, but I do heat my house with wood. And all my saws are safe and legal.

The only modification I have to my saws (MS 660 and the 046) are max flow filters. But they have been certified fire safe.

You're wrong there, you're stupidity insults me, and thats enough to set me off.

You're saws may be "legal" but even in stock form they are not safe, because any chainsaw is inherently a dangerous tool to use. Thats just common sense.

As siLogger suggested you are killing us all with your modified saws with those Maxi-flow filters on them. Please replace with the stock ones, so that my children will not suffer any longer.

The issues of legality are fact. A modified chainsaw breaks several EPA, OSHA, Federal Safety Guidelines and they hurt the environment. These are all non-disputable facts.

If you run a modified saw you are breaking the law.

These are not opinions, as the thread was started with. These are Federal Laws.

No Mods on work saws.

And this is not the same as Gun control. Weapons are legal. Modified saws are not. No matter how much you dislike what I am telling you, they are not legal in the normal work setting.
