Got a 475 poulan pro that started running lean. It will not stay idling and it runs lean in the cut even after adjusting the high and low screws to beyond rich enough.
So I replaced the boot inbetween the carb and cylinder. Still lean. Checked fuel line and fuel filter. They are both good.
Is there anything else I can check other than how hard is it to change the crank seals, and where am I gonna find them. Unless I can get some for a Jonsered 2083 which I think are the same. Thank you in advance. Oh, and the saw has Very Good Compression!

The guys in the thread mentioned are much smarter than I and they're Poulan gurus so to speak.

Here's some thoughts:
"Fuel lines are good"..... is that just by visual inspection or does it mean they are new etc.?
"Compression is good"...what is the number, this will help others that may know what that specific saw behaves like within a range of compression with what they have experienced.
I've got a couple of saws that should run on 125PSI but they are not. So I've got to get them tested for leaks. I just went thru a Tanaka with great 145 compression but found a leak at the boot. At least you know you have a good intake boot.

If seals. The fly side just a 372.

The pto side will need updated 505 2083 etc to the newer bearing and seal set up. Which means crankcase split.

Unless you find the NLA pto seal. Some still have them. But since I quit running this seres I sold all my pto seals off. They bring 20 to 30 for just the 1 seal now.
