I don't know if this is the place to post this, but it is a small 2-cycle. I started this machine this afternoon to do some trimming on dead stuff around my pond. The engine would surge, not want to idle well, and then die. I got tired of screwing with it and got out the chainsaw to cut the willows and dead cane.
This thing has extreme limiter caps on the carb. Should I cut them off and then start tuning, or does this have other issues. It is no big deal, as it will go in the trash if I can't figure it out. I have had it several years and I will probably buy a Stihl or Husky to replace it.
I am running 50:1 Amsoil in it, so it is not a mix ratio issue.
Any suggestions will be worth trying, but it is kind of an experiment at this point.
