Somewhere thinking about cutting wood
Hello all,

Got a couple of Stihl 028's. ones a super with a scored piston/cylinder of course. The others just 028AV WB. All there except the oiler and gears that go with that. They could both stand to cleaned up and such but how much is too much to spend if I do it myself and/or I take em' to a good saw shop where they'll tear them completely down and start over?

Thx
JS

If you can't figure out how to fix them yourself, it's probably better to look for something in better shape. Think about what a newer saw would cost. Look at a new 455 rancher or a 271 farmboss. Look at Craigslist. A couple, maybe three hundred is what they're worth in really excellent condition, so figure parts plus your time. Going to be pretty expensive to pay a shop to rebuild them.
