Resistor Spark Plugs

I'm running an NGK BPMR6A in my Pioneer Partner 500. Looking to replace this plug I haven't found an exact replacement. Cross ref. plug is Champion CJ8Y. Will running a non resistor plug fry my old ignition??? Could not find the RCJ8Y. Should I just wait and order exact replacement plugs, or am I needlessly worrying over the slight change?

If the plugs for a chainsaw R or not are the same as in my older cars 65 and 69 that came without R plugs. It shouldnt matter. R type plugs from my understanding was to get help get rid of the interferce that regular plugs made through your am radios etc.
