Any thoughts on saws stored hanging downwards like that stand I built above?

What’s best practice?

That way let's the oil drain off the saw directly under them. I would think that the oil puddle would be smaller than if you put the saws on shelves. At our town barn they have all their saws hanging from the wall with cardboard under them for the dripppings.

Yep! Don't need the heavy artillery for peppermint. In fact half the time with dry peppermint you can pick it up and drop it and it will split.

I did scrounge up that like new Oregon 88-018 blade grinder this morning for $175. It has the original stone still on it and the owners manual. It is hardly used. I passed up on the Foley 1055 for these 3 tools for $100 off of Craigslist 2 towns from me. There is a Foley 357 carbide saw sharpening machine with the stand. A Foley 1x42 belt sander and stand made by Rockwell and a Peerless chainsaw sharpening unit with the stand and foot pedal. I believe this is a complete unit. The sander needs two new wheels. The owner passed away. I had no issue giving his son $100 for them.

Not sure about best practice but I don't think there's an improper way...except maybe upside-down.

I would think that UP means Upper Peninsula too.

MANY years ago, I bought a big pickup load of thick cottonwood lumber from a guy for $75.00. I brought it into my shop and (long story short) designed a "sewing table" and built it out of that cottonwood.

I showed it off at a Sewing & Vac shop and they bought it to resell, soon the orders came in and I built/sold a BUNCH of custom-built sewing tables out of that pile of lumber! They were a good money maker!

Cottonwood makes, much better lumber than people give it credit for.

I'm wondering it it makes less of a mess by the occasional bar oil leaking out? I store my saws on a rack with cardboard underneath, just in case
