Thanks, Ray and Harley. If it just needed carb work, I might play with it, as never had one. But not chasing a piston/cyl.

I loves my Shindaiwas, but their air filters sucked back then. As well as their fuel lines.....

Kind of like the Datsun vehicles.
They were real sweet, until time and rootrot/the elements caught up with them.

Yeah, I was a Shindaiwa dealer in the early 1990s, and I has real young saws come back with mushy fuel lines...
That was back when gas was relatively good too!!

We have been E free here until just recently a bit is getting sneaked in but back when the Shinnies were relative new around here, mid 90`s or so the lines were going mushy in 5 years or so, not a normal thing for other saws here. There is a mint 500 here in its case that I must scrape up new lines for, carb is toast as the seat is pitted and the needle won`t seat.
