Should I add crank stuffers to my ported 2159?

Does anyone know more about Ed Heard's 357 w/no stuffers project. His purpose was that it was closer to the 1:1.2 crankcase ratio without them which when ported should be a stout saw. I'm reaching dead ends about that project.

I wouldn't replace a good 359 P&C with 357 P&C. The 357 top end needs the crank stuffers and your saw wont have them.

Delete base gasket and open up the muffler would be worth the trouble. Or have it ported.

This case, little cups that fit around the crank throws. They take up volume in the crankcase which alters the relationship between the environment above and below the piston. They tend to help with high RPM power and better low end throttle response and efficiency but seem to hinder torque over broad range.
Trust me, I know enough to sound like I know stuff...and stuff.

They increase the primary compression ratio by decreasing the case volume.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it decrease? There is less volume case:volume cylinder ratio. Or would you still view the case as 1 regardless of volume and cylinder is just whatever compared to 1?
Ex. No stuffers, case is 100cc. Cylinder is 120cc.
1:1.2 ratio
With Stuffers, case is 85cc. Cylinder is still 120cc.
1:1.4 ratio
