I have a young Autumn Blaze Maple (planted 2 years ago in my yard) that is growing crooked. I staked it last winter and removed the staking in spring but it didn’t seem to make any difference. Any advice on if it needs to continue being staked or assisted in any way, or if it should self correct (I can’t tell if it’s self correcting at the top…). I just don’t want to take the incorrect steps now and let that be detrimental in the long run.

Thank you in advance!

Yes. T post and flagging tape. What I use. Or you can use lots of other stuff.
Thanks for the reply. Is it critical what time of year I should stake it and do you have any recommendation on how long it will need staked?

Finally do you have a recommendation on at what height the stake connects to the tree and if it should appear effectively straight up and down when staked properly?

Sorry for all the questions. Appreciate the help.
