Sick Amur Maple

Hello, I have a 3 year old Amur maple that for the most part has come back healthy and strong from the winter season, but I noticed that the leaves on a few branches have shriveled up and turned black... does anyone know what might be causing this and how to treat it? I'm a bit concerned because it appears to be spreading. I also noticed that a few leaves have black spots on them.

The way one branch is good and another is wilted I was thinking verticillium may be a possibility...I'd send samples to a diagnostic lab.

Could it be salt damage? This tree lives in the middle of an island in a parking lot, that has been treated with deicing salts frequently in the last few months.

I wouldn't expect isolated branch damage from salt....but that certainly isn't doing the tree any favors!
