Hey all,
I own and operate a small tree service in Southeastern MA, and am considering a skidsteer mounted stumper for my 2001 Cat 262 wheeled skidsteer. It is NOT a high flow machine...normal flow is around 22gpm with an 82 hp turbo diesel engine. Is anyone out there using or tried one in the past. I've heard from some that you need a high flow machine to create enough hydraulic horsepower to run a stumper efficiently. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Work safe!

hp required

Normal hydraulic flow for a hydro grinder would be 35-120 litres per min BUT we have a grinder that works well on mini excavators with flow of approx 20,lts per min and they work ok.
21litres of flow will give you approx 12hp at the grinder head so depends on type and speed of grinding you want to do.

hope this helps .
