craftsman used saws from pulan, echo, solo, homelite ,roper, and lots of others as whell.

Yes , The Craftsman Power And Hand Tool Catalog number is 71-35201 . If I remember correctly RBTREE has one .

I saw one at a pawn shop. It was a black 'Sears Best 55cc'. Old enough not to have a chain brake but new enough to have a hand guard.

This is totally OT but I stopped by Sears today and the salesman I stopped in to say hello to said nothing but bad things about the current 55cc model with the easy start feature. Aparently the thing breaks as easily as it starts.

Correct scottr...It's a Solo 651SP. Nice saw....but it didnt respond to mods as well as the 346 does.

l think you are talking about a poulan 3700, witch i have one, but i could be rong. the solo model should be 51cc.the 3700 is a nice saw but kind of heavy. the 3.7 roper stile seem a cople of pounds lighter than the poulan 3700.
