One nice thing about the 8 tooth even if it is mechanicaly challenged on the 346, is that it will accomidate at least one drive link more on a stretched chain, thus remedying chain slap and peening to the heel of the bar. But the bar on the 346 is a small tail mount so a 7 pin conforms best, just use the minimum # of drivers that still allows you to mount the chain.
