Hi guys,
Had a client ask me today if his trees are about to die because of the heavily coned top(not more then normal). His nieghbor just had two great trees renoved because another tree guy said they are ready to crown and need to be removed.

I'm not famillier with this term "ready to crown" and told him this. I said his trees are beauties and no need to be removed(after looking all around the trees).

Can someone explain this term to me? I'd like to go back and talk to him with some more advice.

You could've sold him on some topping and removed them later if they didn't make it!:jawdrop:

I do not know what is worse in Ohio this year the tent caterpillars or the terrible hack outfits. The family just got back from vacation this saturday and all I can say about the drive was that the trees in WV looked incredible this year!

thats a forestry term meaning ready to harvest.

unrelated to arboriculture.
