squeaky starter mechanism MS-261

I was cleaning up my 261 this afternoon and noticed that the starter mechanism has a bit of a squeak going on that is new. Kind of sounds and feels like plastic on plastic rubbing and squeaking. Does anyone know if there's a place I can grease the mechanism? I figured I should ask around before I pull the cover off and start poking around.

don't grease it,, that will attract all kinds of dirt,,, i just take some wd40 and give it a quick spray on the post and that usually takes care of it
