I bought a used one some years ago. It had a few cracks in the steel around the vent and one in the corner of the right door at the top.A friend wielded up all the cracks and grinded them flush. The fan works fine and I want to put it in my fireplace. It came w a surround but a few pieces were bent bad and I tossed them out thinking I could get a new set, now I can't find them w a search I assume they are out of business. The chimney is 12/14' above the damper. Should I get surround built for it or get an adapter and a liner? if a liner 6" or 8?
