I have a stihl 038 super chainsaw for sale. This is a project saw, the compression is 140 psi and it has spark. I bought a new air filter for the saw (Tecomec, made in Italy) and I put it on the saw to keep from losing it. The piston looks to be in good shape. I only loosely put the muffler on and it has no gasket. So you would need to take it off and put a gasket on it before you use it. The front of the muffler is dented. The brake handle is missing. The plastics are faded as you can see. The holes for the carburetor adjustment screws I believe have been made a little larger. The saw has been sitting for many years, so it at least needs fuel system work and seals. I would probably tear it down, clean it and replace the bearings, seals, piston rings etc. that was my plan but I’ve had the saw for 2 years and have never gotten around to it. $100 plus shipping.
