I’ve found a really nice, inexpensive MS650 for sale near me, and always wanted an 066 or 660. The idea occurred to me that you might be able to put an 066 cylinder and piston on the MS650, and have a 92cc saw for half the price. The crankcase p/n is the same between an MS650 and 066, so I think it might work. Has anyone else tried this before? If so, what else might I need to change?

From what little I personally know of the 650- very little to change, as unlike the 064 to 660 swap and the different cylinder bolts requiring some cylinder base wallowing- the 650 used 6mm bolts on the 52mm cylinder.
Now bolt spacing- of that I am not sure- you may still need to wallow out the 066/660 cylinder base holes to line up with the 650 case spacing.
