Stihl 08

Can you fit any length of bar to this saw?
The one I have is 17 inch but I want to use a shorter one as well.
Will any stihl bar do?

I think the 08 will take the large mount, but wait until some of the other guys come on. They will know for sure. Jim

It does take the large mount Stihl. Not sure that you will find anything shorter than the 17".

You can get a 15" for it, too, if hardnose is OK with you...

I have a pile of hard nose bars in the 15" range that will work.

First saw. I thought I would be better with a short bar when up a tree. Obviously not.
