Howdy,
I agree with you, and I wish we could put little hints and tips like that but, it's too much liability. If anything happened where damage, or injury ensued, people wouldn't go after the manufacturers of the saw, bar, or adapter. They would be after whoever said "you need to do this to make it work". That's where I think forums, and websites like the AS really shine when it comes to this kind of information.
Regards
Gregg

I like mine better.... Greg, any thought of making these a production piece? Seems there is enough Dolmar/Makita's out there now that people would buy them... I need a couple more, but don't have access to the tools I used to have to make them... I made this one from one a buddy gave me that used to own a Dolmar dealership and was a big stihl nut. Something about a STihl ES bar that is hard to wear out...

Would 2 individual ring spacers work?

It would be pretty easy to make spacer rings to do the same thing, I would use 4140 steel myself. A turning center with a bar feeder could probably make a couple thousand in a day.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, did some searching but can't find the answer. Will a bar adaptor like this change the drive link cont for the Stihl bar on a Dolmar? The OP is using a 25 inch stihl bar, the bar states 84 DL does that still stand?
Thanks

Top ones a modified husky adapter. Thought it looked cheesy so made the bottom one. Lol. Much more pretty! No change in the chain length. 20150801_195823.jpg
