im slowing down collecting husky chain saws. I’m grabbing Stihl chain saws inbetween the huskys. So far I have a Stihl 170, 029, 041 farm boss. My question which Stihl chain saw I should get to go one step up over the 041?

041 AV THEN 041 SUPER 051 045/056 056 super 056 MAG Collecting by vintage or size makes a difference ...
Usually what jumps out in front of you is the next victim(acquirement)

Depends on what vintage. I like these models, of course there are much more :D
041... 056, 076
044, 064, 084
241, 461

I cant seem so find an 084 anywhere like I'm ready to trade my minty 066 and cash for one

TRTermite was on track, but skip a few and go to the 056 Mag II.
There are quite few Stihl saws that are bigger than 041. It just depends how old and how much bigger.

I do prize my 056 Mag II saws a lot but You be aware that they don't have a decompression and a good runner will be 180 plus compression. Cold weather starting will let you earn your oats. Nothing like cold fingers slipping of a wet and cold starter and gloves seem to get in the way for me so YEOWIEE.
My Dad really liked his 051 ave saws but he finally ended up with a 50 cc saw with a decompression. By that time he was pushing 80 and he wasn't comfortable having grand kids running a big saw for 'lil ole firewood without a chain brake.

Give or take a cc here or there here are the choices for one step up in power, or just different design...

034S/036/360=60cc
029/290=54cc, 029S=56cc
310=60cc, same as 290 slightly larger bore.
039/390=65cc, same as 029/310 with a larger bore.
361=60cc, spring antivibe.
038=60cc, 038S=66cc, 038mag=72cc
042=68cc
048=76cc
045=75cc
044/440=70cc
046/460=76cc

07=75cc
08=50cc, can be 60cc depending on which model.

If you want a saw to use, the 044 or 046. If you want coooool, 048 or 07.

If you want to step down in engine size from the 041, the 028, 031 and 032 are 50ish cc saws. A good running 031 is a fun saw.
