can any of you tell me the RAL color code for the white/grey color of the crankcase?

Well, there’s a couple over the years, the newer ones should be grey white RAL 9002 & pure white RAL 9010

So schould be RAL 9002 for a MS461, right?

Every time I paint a Stihl saw case, the customer says, "But, I want it to look old and used, not new and unused."

If your redoing your cases I would get them powder coated.

In fact they're not in that bad shape, but I like when my machines look like unused.
I don't have an underside pic, but there's paint missing under the flywheel and under the oil tank. This was the best looking unit the seller had. Also said the engine runs but is very noisy, most likely scored

Mitch, give it a clean and forget it, paint is just going to flake off or dissolve any time you spill any. That’s a very tidy set of case halves, certainly don’t paint those, clean them and move on. Paint results will be poor and disappointing, not to mention devalue them.
