Starter fluid isn't a good idea. There's no oil in it. Use pre-mix.

Check the choke shutter in the air filter. It may not be seating correctly.

That's what I do as well. I put mixed gas/oil in a spray bottle to make it easier. Some say it's OK to use starter fluid to check if a saw will fire/run, but I'm one of those nancy boys who wants oil in the gas any time I put it in a chainsaw. :msp_wink:

Get a carb kit and a new fuel filter. Clean the carb really well and make sure the fuel passages are clean.

Spray some mix down the throat of the carb, turn the kill switch on and pull away....if it runs it's a fuel problem (carb, line, filter). If it doesn't.... its a spark problem, that simple!!

I'm betting it needs a carb kit and a good cleaning w/o using air.
