I have two of my own stihl ms 440s and i really want to do an aftermarket exhaust on one of them. I have no idea were to look for one nor do i know if i can even do one without melting the handle off the saw. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this question, all answer will be highly appreciated

There are quite a few guys that do mufflers but the easiest way is to get a dual port cover from your dealer. Part # 1128 140 0801. It just replaces your front cover.

You can also open up the rear oem port for more flow with a round file.

Just be sure to retune after these mods, you will want to slow the saw down to around 13.5-13.8K rpms. This may be a job for your dealer if he has a tach, he also should have the tool to remove the limiter caps on the carb.

Here is a pic, the yellow area is the oem port that you may want to open up.
