I have a Stihl FS36 trimmer and something broke. It runs fine and the head spins until I hit the weeds - it just stops spinning. When I turn it off I hear a rattling in the tube. Any idea what might be worng and how I can fix it?
Also do you know if I can put a metal blade on this trimmer?

That sounds like a drive shaft cable that has twisted off and is slipping either in the clutch drum or the drvie end of the tube. The FS36 isn't Stihl's best effort by no means. If it runs ok your looking at around 29.00 for a drive cable, PN 4130-711-3200.

No metal blades are to be put on that model because of the bend in the shaft and the drive cable that runs it.
