I had a 100' hemlock fall a week ago in a win storm and I notice these (to me) unusual growths on the upper branches, like all of them. It's almost like the tree was putting out aerial roots. What is this?
We had 7 or 8 hemlocks fall this year, I think it was from the long, dry summer.
Any thoughts?
