I was comparing the external runners on the 455 to pictures of the cylinder of the PP4218, which clearly does not have those - is this just a lower cost implementation, or is there some more fundamental difference?
 
I'll try bumping this - I guess this is just a question about external transfers vs. cast-in. What's the advantage?
