Supposed to hit the States between October and December this year. Suggested price with an 18" bar is 1164 Brittish Pounds which is $1550 USD. Knock off the 20% or so I normally get saws at, that's around $1250.

Seems a little painful when i can get a new 461 at $925.

6.0 hp & 13.23 lbs
0.453 hp/lb

How many of you will try one out?

Brother from a different mother???
My next preplanned impulse buy.
One of my first retirement checks.

Let’s make sure we are putting the right numbers up the 362 is 12.35lbs, the wrap handle is 13.2lbs.

The saw you have in the pic is a 462, not a 462 with a wrap handle or R version. Generally the R or wrap version had a larger Oiler and is heavier, due to the handle and the Oiler.

A lot of dealers say this saw isn’t coming to the states, the M500 variant is. Dealers seem clueless.

I wanted one pretty badly, I still do, but I couldn't wait any longer for the 462 to drop so I ended up with the 441R to get moving on some trees that had to be cleared. I might end up unloading my 441R after the 462 comes out if it ends up being everything I think it will be, but I'll wait for the wrap handle version. That said, if the FI 500 comes out around the same time, I could be convinced to completely forget about the 462 altogether lol.

Dealers are clueless. 2 different sources inside Stihl at VA Beach is where I got my info from ;)

I rechecked, the 462 is 13.23 lbs.

I can't imagine the 462 would be anywhere close to $1500+ msrp, I can't see it being more than $1300, it'd be a hard sell at anymore than that.

I just converted what some people have paid in Sweeden and by the MSRP on Stihls UK site. I hope its close to the 461 in price. Ive been dying to get a 461 since I got to handle one. The 461 is one of the best balanced saws I've ever handled, and I think I'd take it over a 362. So I know the 462 , weighing in the 60cc saw weight class, will handle like a 50cc and still rape wood fibers like a 70cc should.
