My stock 288xp sounds the same. They sound better and rev quick like a 346xp but mine barely comes out as it vibrates my hands to sleep. I'd take my 576xpg autotune over it any day

I've never heard a 288. My 298 sounds pretty dang cool. Do they compare? I suspect the 298 doesn't rev quite as quick.

2100 has a ping ping ping sound, 288's like a pop pop pop sound. Both being deep. 288 rev's fast and aggressive. 288 is one of the best sounding saws of all time IMO.

298 is the same as a 2100 but without the manual oiler. If you have a 298 please share pictues or video of it. I cant find any clips on youtube for the 298...

Here's my 285 I recently got...



I was told the 298 is basically a 285 with a 2100 top end. Probably because they are the same lower half and the 285 doesnt have the manual oiler...
