I have an HS 56A carb on a 900 series Homelite saw.
The issue I'm having is flooding on the high side.
The saw starts and idles OK as far as it will with fuel running in from the high side.
The saw runs with the high side needle closed.
That would indicate to me that the metering needle wasn't seating or check valve was shot so I pulled the small welch plug and there is no check valve in there.
I can't find an IPL for that specific model carb but looking at other HS IPL's I see some with check valves and some without.
The metering needle is holding pressure at 10 lbs. New gaskets and diaphragms installed in the correct order.
The metering diaphragm is hooked into the metering lever.
The metering lever is set level with the floor of the metering chamber.
The carb has a governor and I have blocked that off thinking it may be the cause as well.
Any ideas?
