Fire Hooks Unlimited makes 6 and 8 lb flathead axes. The company also builds the best Halligan tool on the market, and the TNT Denver tool... I think they’re really meant for beating on forcible entry tools and gapping doors to get better purchase (or at least in the one on our engine does) and the head profile isn’t super great for chopping, but they’re probably workable and really heavy for an axe.

Anyway, they’re not as cheap as a Council Tool or Asian import axe, but they’re pretty reasonable and the pole is pretty far back from the handle. The handles are pretty long, but, well, that’s what saws and rasps are for. If anything happens to or I retire the Sager that I love so much I’ll probably get one.
