That's a king hit by Machine, the count is on 9, 10!

It's over. Well said.

Darn I enjoyed this thread.

I'd still like to stir the pot over these nodes though, I'm like a freak looking at everything branch lately and I just don't get it. Are you guys having me on?

you are right.not i tree i have seen here that is NOT topped.i see beautiful birch trees all topped.every company here tops your trees.we trust that they know what to do ,not us.they all say THOSE TREES ARE GETTING TALL.so, if it hurts trees you would think they would not do it.sadly, we dont know and trust them.
trees grow and they do get tall! topping is illegal in my area (CT) thank god! Where in PA ?we got connections

Saw these yesterday while doctoring a deodara next door. Bad picture; hard to capture the carnage in bytes. Passed around anti-topping lit to the neighbors who had big trees.

Beware size before opening.

No, most of those cuts were internodal, and horizontal to boot. plus they're mad eon such big wood that hollow trunks will result.

I know you're kidding; pruning to barren nodes only fits a post-storm scenario.
