I have evergreens on my property, some of which are doing fine, yet some are turning yellow and look as though they are ready to croak. They are blue spruce and firs. What is the proper care for evergreens. Watering, fertilizer, (organic of course) and any other helpful info.

They want well drained, acidic soils. Excessively fertile soils can be a problem with some fir.

Blue spruce will decline if their "feet stay wet".

Fish/seaweed emultions work well as organic supliments. Proper mulching will help too.

It is best to get a proffesional opinion on something like this. Could be a pest or an environmental factor. I would go with the latter if it is consistant.

Some cvs. will get yellow in the winter as they go semi dormant.
