Can you tell me, by the pictures, what kind of tree this is? I have 6 on them on the property of our new house and I want to pull them out and put a barn in their place. My guess is that they are pear trees. I bet they are fruit bearing, but don't know if you can tell? The reason I am guessing they are fruit bearing is because they are planted in two rows, side by side. Sorry for the red tint in the pics....sucky old camera.

Apples

I would say Apples (Malus sp.), not pears. Pears are more upright and have glossy ovalish leaves. Apple leaves are more rounded and pubescent (hairy).

Alright...thanks guys. I guess the reason I thought they might be pears was because of the structure of the trees. We don't close on the house for another few days and I am trying to contact the owners, via real estate agents, to see if they know.

Thanks again,
Matt
