tree identification?

a friend is going to take down a few trees, told me I can have them if I want them, I think it's some type of oak, but I'm not sure, I didn't see any acorns on it, though, but I had to climb up on a pile of dirt to swipe these leaves.

From the foliage, that looks like swamp chestnut oak (Quercus michauxii).

Good guess. It gets a 95% species rating in most books. Shame they will be lost.

what do you mean 95% species rating?

yeah, i like the free wood, but I hate to see them cut the trees down. but it's in danger of blowing into his garage or house.
