tree / weed ID ?

I have lived at my current home in the woods for 8 years now and have never noticed these trees until this year. Maybe they just never had these little nuts on them. Anyway, I haven't been able to id them - not very good at tree id anyway, but figured someone here knows what they are.

3 varieties of witchhazel, according to my favorite source, VirginiaTech. The original ID seems spot on to me.
