Vintage Chainsaw id?

View attachment 297653Hi everyone. Got an old what looks like a Mac in the shop today by a customer. Not sure who makes this thing as no stickers or id`s on it. Could someone Maybe 200 years older than me (LOL) give me an idea of who makes this old saw and what era.

McCulloch D-33 LeSabre, 1955-56. A direct drive version of the Model 33. A rather odd duck...

There were many things you could do with that power head.

I don't seem to have a photo of the auger, I'm sure it will turn up somewhere.

They were also sold as the Thrifty Mac. If you dig around on you tube you will find mine running wicked rich in a cut
