I have burn alot of Black Walnut. As a matter of fact i'm burning some now. I have no real complaints about it, seems to be middle of the road fire wood. If it's that close to you i would get it and burn it. I agree it's not my first choice but if it's a deal i will burn it. i'm also burning popular which is not the best fire wood either, but it was free and a tractor drive away! The idea behind burning wood for most people is to save money and good heat, and if that means burning middle of the road wood then count me in! I would rather burn free decent wood than pay a ton for great wood. Be careful and have fun!
